Environmental health issues include indoor air pollution, outdoor air pollution, water pollution, and toxic pollution. Each health issue is a hazard to not only human health but also environmental health. There is one notable example of a country attempting to repair the detrimental effects of pollution is China. China has been a hot-spot of conflict relating to air quality and the Olympic Games. There is a concern about the air pollution and its effects on the health of the athletes. China has taken some steps in an attempt to limit air pollution. For example, China is trying to lower sulphur dioxide and chemical oxygen demand by 6% and 5% respectively (Bai). These steps are necessary because Beijing is just one of the many cities suffering from severe smog and other complications from pollution (Bai). A main factor in pollution that makes it so complicated is wind. Wind carries pollutants that cause complications. This creates problems with containing pollution and keeping it from spreading.
